Here is a lovely client project that has been made with
crepe backed satin and matching lining that was bought by the client some years
ago on her travels to the Far East. She
wanted it made into a soft falling jacket without a collar. Using such a soft falling fabric meant that I
have had to interline the whole jacket with a fine wool challis to give it
weight, body and prevent so much creasing.
I have piped the edges of the jacket with the matte side of the lining
and used the matte side of the satin for the front facing/revers and cuffs for
a bit of contrast and texture. The
camisole was made with the satin and bound at the neck with the matte side of
the satin too.
